The Photographer’s Boy

The Photographer’s Boy
Published by Premier Digital Publishing in the US in 2013
It’s taken about 12 years to get this far and I am fiercely proud of it. It’s the story of a boy who runs away from the first battle of the US Civil War and becomes an assistant to the early photographers of the war…seventy five years later he takes his grandson to the final reunion of the veterans of the battle of Gettysburg. Family lies and secrets are revealed…there’s skulduggery and deceit…a bit of journalism and fakery…and some love and devotion along the way.
Here's an article about it that I recently wrote for the Guardian US website
